The Emergency Medical Technician program prepares students to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients. They function as part of a comprehensive EMS response under medical oversight. Emergency Medical Technicians perform interventions with the basic equipment typically found on an ambulance. The Emergency Medical Technician is a link from the scene to the emergency health care system. Auburn Career Center's EMT program includes 32 hours of clinical/field experience time to help the EMT student refine the skills that they will be using in their career.

Successful completion of the program allows you to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Cognitive Examination.

Auburn Career Center is an accredited EMS education program from the State of Ohio Department of Public Safety Division of EMS. Accreditation #302. Auburn Career Center's EMT program meets the National EMT Curriculum.

Additional fees may apply for immunizations, fingerprints and certification testing.

This program is also available to students who would like to simultaneously earn their high school equivalency.
